Xubuntu 2110, enough for success.

Who says that for good results you must buy expencive professional tools. When first versions of Linux for IBM PC compatible computers was developed, that was a sensation. Because for every day tasks and studying and even for building a sever you do not need commercial software. But now 20+ years comed and I'm bold enough to need a little more from an open and free software.

Distribution choise.

My opinion about distros. I need distro with binary packages, they are fast and easy customizable. Also they must be stable, Debian comes from germany, thats why I think it stable. But community is not fast enough to add and test all new software which is appears. That is why commercial company Canonical exists, they build Ubuntu stable distributions every year from Debian untested software.

I choose xubuntu, it's ubuntu with XFCE desktop. It is most lightweight and based on lightweight GTK visual library. Instead of more complicated KDE desktop based on Qt framework, which is more resource demanding. But I also need some parts of KDE desktop on my XFCE, and here we can see linux customizability. Here also we can see yet another advantage of linux, while Official Microsoft web page advices you to buy a new computer in order to use Windows, with linux you may stay on older one. For example, I use homemade computer based on 4bit processor sanyo from old Berdsk Vega cassette deck.

2110 release notes.

First of all, number of that release looks technological, like LADA 2110, who was a first soviet car with ECU fuel injection system. Now it have advantage in choosing colour themes of terminal, I choosen solarized light theme with transparency. Also we have default pre installed gnome-disk-utility and gnome-disk-manager, it help to sort out your disks and usb sticks easily without terminal. Thunar file manager titlebar will now display the full directory path. Of cource, the latest kernel 5.13.

Software

Secondly, kit of userful software, that I added to original distro. 

Kdenlive video redactor. Of cource it is'nt Adobe, but it fast and have all most have functions. The main secret of it redactor is in that it based on ffmpeg. Ffmpeg is C-code based library for video decoding/encoding in any codec and format, even webm. It may in video colour profiling, speed editing, multiple video track editing, and sound volume editing. Aslo it can 7 frames/sec of converting fullHD on old 3.4G Phenom.

looks professional

Atom text redactor. You know that linux is a native environment for gcc and make. Finally I do not need an IDE, I need only good code redactor. Atom redactor from github team is appropriate. It have syntax highlighting function, jump to definition function, button for pushing commits to github and the solarized light theme. That is all what I need. Also you need to install packages autocomplete-plus and git-plus in atom. 

Nomacs image viewer. An image viewer with simplest functions for picture editing, I think that it is conveniently. Of course it's all-format too.

Chrome browser. The default is Firefox, but i'm used to google chrome account and multiple pc synchronization function. Also this browser is available from google repositories and updates automatically too. Even spotify is available as deb package, and you do not need to download pirated music.

KiCad pcb redactor. Good enough for home projects, but there are some professional ones on it too. For example HackRF, Olinuxino, RusEFI. It's better to add inkscape in order to easily print pcb templates in svg.

Also if you are used to notepad++ redactor on windows, notepadqq is analogue on linux, and midnight commander is analogue of far. LaTex in ubuntu is in texlive-full packet. Also LibreOffice is much faster then MS Office and can save text in pdf.
